Bentham 1824 in London gegründete Zeitschrift, die sich im Sinne eines radikalen Liberalismus politischen, philosophischen und literarischen Themen zuwandte; so unterstützte das Magazin die Autoren der englischen Romantik. Bedeutende Autoren waren u. a. J. Mill, J. S. Mill, George Eliot (die 1851-53 der Redaktion angehörte), W. Pater, J. A. Froude, T. H. Huxley und G. H. Lewes; eingestellt 1914.
